<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector in which a desired safety state can be ensured, for instance, even if the frequency of attaching and detaching in a connector exceeds a prescribed number. <P>SOLUTION: An optical connector 10 includes: a first holding member 31 for holding a first optical fiber 21 having an emitting end face 23 for emitting light; and a second holding member 51 which, while holding a second optical fiber 41 having an incident end face 43 on which the light emitted from the emitting end face 23 is incident, connects with the first holding member 31 so as to make the emitting end face 23 optically coupled to the incident end face 43. The optical connector 10 further includes a positioning member 71 which holds the first holding member 31 and the second holding member 51 with them positioned in the inside thereof so as to make the emitting end face 23 optically coupled to the incident end face 43.
