<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip collecting device that can prevent chips attracted to an attraction body in a fluid pipe from dropping in the fluid pipe. <P>SOLUTION: The chip collecting device 15 including the attraction body 13 with magnetic force, introduces the attraction body 13 into the fluid pipe 1 via a branching part 1b of the fluid pipe 1, and moves the attracting body 13 in the fluid pipe 1 toward a pipe axial direction of the fluid pipe 1 to attract magnetic chips that are produced when boring a hole 1b in the fluid pipe 1, to the attraction body 13 at the bottom of the fluid pipe 1 to collect the chips from the fluid pipe 1.
