<p>An airbag device for a front passenger seat has a reduced dimension in the vertical direction of the vehicle. An airbag device (10) for a front passenger seat is configured in such a manner that the inflator (20) is affixed to a front bottom wall section (22F) formed above and in front of a rear bottom wall section (22E) relative to the vehicle, and thus the inflator (20) is offset to the front side of the vehicle relative to the center axis (L3) of a case (22). In addition, the front bottom wall section (22F) is tilted relative to the rear bottom wall section (22E) so that the center axis (L1) of the inflator (20) intersects a line (L2) normal to the rear bottom wall section (22E) at a position above airbag doors (12, 14) relative to the vehicle, and as a result, the inflator (20) is tilted. Consequently, when compared with cases in which the front bottom wall section (22F) is, as indicated by the dashed-two dotted lines (L5), in parallel to the direction in which the rear bottom wall section (22E) extends, the airbag device (10) for a front passenger seat has a reduced dimension in the vertical direction of the vehicle.</p> |
