The commutator (20) has two bodies (26, 28) separately from an electrically insulating material. Multiple commutator segments (22) are arranged at an outer surface of one of the bodies designed as a hollow cylinder two axial ends. Commutator terminals (24) comprise contact regions for contacting with the corresponding commutator segments. The other body includes an annular wall extending from a base. One of the ends of the former body is retained in a space defined by the base and the wall. The contact regions in close contact with the segments are located at an inside of the wall. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electromotor (2) a method for forming a commutator.
