<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strip sheet support device and a strip sheet support method in which accurate alignment is not necessary to appropriately perform data communication for a data carrier when an axial core member which is wound with a strip sheet and on which the data carrier is provided is supported with a support shaft. <P>SOLUTION: A support device 2 comprises: a support shaft 221 for supporting a cylindrical member 251 by being inserted into the cylindrical member 251 from one end side of its hollow part; and a frame 21 for supporting the support shaft 221. Inside of the cylindrical member 251 provided is an intermediate wall 252 that can attach a data carrier allowing at least one of storage and transmission of prescribed data.
