<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer that costs less in electricity, in a hand dryer used in a restroom, bathroom, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The hand dryer includes: an air blower 2 and a heat generator 3 disposed in the body of the hand dryer; an air blowing nozzle 4 provided under the heat generator 3; a drying space 5 provided below the air blowing nozzle 4; a water receiving tray 6 provided below the drying space 5; a hand detector 7 provided above the drying space 5; a water detector 8 provided in the water receiving tray 6; a drain hole 9 provided in the lowermost part of the water receiving tray 6; a water receiving cup 10 provided below the drain hole 9; and a controller 11 for actuating the air blower 2 and the heat generator 3 upon receiving a signal from the hand detector 7. The hand dryer shuts off power supply to the hand detector 7 and the controller 11 except when the water detector 8 detects water droplets falling from the washed hand, thus obtaining an economical hand dryer 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
