<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device for detecting discharge failure that detects the discharge failure of liquid droplets more accurately with ease, and to obtain an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The device for detecting the discharge failure related to an embodiment includes: an imaging unit for obtaining image data of liquid droplets which is discharged from discharge holes at a discharging unit; an imaging controlling unit for controlling the imaging unit such that the image data which is obtained by the imaging unit contains an image data of continuous moving tracks of the liquid droplets; and a discharge failure detecting unit for detecting the discharge failure of the liquid droplets by the image processing of the image data which is obtained by the imaging unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
