<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an optical fiber grasping member from falling off due to a tension force acting on a coated optical fiber after optical connector assembly, with respect to a mechanical splicing type field assembly optical connector. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber grasping member grasps a coated optical fiber to insert it into a mechanical splicing part. The optical fiber grasping member has an arm having, at a front end thereof, an engaging claw to be engaged with a connector component member. A lever which is to cover the optical fiber grasping member integrated with the connector component member is turnably provided on a stop ring. An arm deformation preventing piece which enters a gap between the engaging claw and an inner surface of a side wall of the stop ring in a state where the engaging claw at the front end of the arm of the optical fiber grasping member is engaged with the connector component member is provided on the lever. When the lever is turned down to cover the optical fiber grasping member, the arm deformation preventing piece enters the gap between the engaging claw and the inner surface of the side wall of the stop ring to restrain the engaging claw, so that the optical fiber grasping member does not fall off the connector component member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
