<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting wire rod which is obtained by heat treatment at a lower temperature when compared with prior art while having a high critical current density and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The superconducting wire rod 10 having a high critical current density can be obtained by heat treatment at a lower temperature when compared with prior art, because a compound 1 represented by the following formula (1) is added. A manufacturing method therefor is also provided.
