BASE-ISOLATED STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base-isolated structure which enables base isolation properties to be exerted on a superstructure without being affected by a vertical variation load acting on an outer peripheral area of the superstructure during earthquakes and the like.

SOLUTION: A base-isolated structure 18 includes: a load bearing device 24 for supporting an outer peripheral area 30 of a superstructure 16; second sliding means 26 for making the load bearing device 24 and the superstructure 16 slidable; and deformation regulating means for regulating the amount of horizontal shear deformation generated in the load bearing device 24 during earthquakes. The base-isolated structure 18 enables base isolation properties to be exerted on the superstructure 16 without being affected by a vertical variation load acting on the outer peripheral area 30 of the superstructure 16 during the earthquakes and the like.
