<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cutter that allows the necessary length of a tape to be repeadedly stuck and cut with one hand. <P>SOLUTION: The tape cutter includes a cutter member comprised of a tape placing section coated with an adhesive and a cutting knife, or of a tape placing section coated with an adhesive, a cutting knife and a bearing. A roll of tape is attached to the tape cutter with its adhesive-coated face to face upward. The tape is pulled forward out of the roll and its face not coated with an adhesive is caused to stick to the tape placing section coated with an adhesive. The adhesive-coated face of the tape is caused to stick onto an object for the tape to stick to, holding the tape cutter roughly upside down. Thereafter, the tape is extended up to a point at which covering the object with the tape is to be ended, and the tape cutter is turned so that the cutting knife is brought into contact with the tape to be cut.
