<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for reinforcing a levee, which is costwise advantageous by virtue of a small amount of steel usage while having performance required for the levee. <P>SOLUTION: A structure for reinforcing a levee 1 is used to reinforce the levee 1 for a river k and the like. A steel wall 3, which continues in the extension direction of the levee 1 and the lower end of which reaches a ground bearing layer 12, is provided in the vicinity of a top 1c of slope on the bank outside O (the river k side) of the levee 1. Additionally, discretely-disposed stay works 4 are provided in the vicinity of the top 1c of slope on the bank inside I (the bank inside opposite to the river k).
