<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground strengthening system having a strong ground bearing function as well as a drainage function and a ground strengthening method. <P>SOLUTION: Elongated columnar bodies 3 each made by binding crushed stones 6 with a water conduction sheet 4 having meshes configured by a high polymer fiber material are vertically disposed in a ground 1 on which a building is to be constructed. The columnar body 3 is provided with a spherical part 3A protruding in a spherical shape larger than its column part at its lower end, and suppresses a tendency of the crushed stones 6 to protrude laterally under vertical compressive force due to a load from above and an end bearing force of the spherical part 3A from below, by tensile resistance strength of the water conduction sheet 4, thereby enhancing internal pressure of the columnar body to keep the strength of the columnar body. Accordingly, the columnar bodies 3 bear the ground 1 surely from the load of the building, have flexibility following lateral deformation of the ground 1 caused by its flexible structure, and are not buckled by the force of the ground. Furthermore, the columnar bodies 3 drain water rapidly out of the ground 1 as crushed-stone drains when rainwater or groundwater pressure rises. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
