NUCLEATE BOILING ENGINE COOLING FLOW CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM

A system and method for measuring the onset of nucleate boiling in the coolant system in an internal combustion engine and for controlling the coolant flow to maintain that condition. A transducer located in the coolant flow detects the onset of nucleate boiling and, through a closed loop microprocessor control system, operates a variable speed coolant flow pump to maintain cooling at a desired state.
