<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strength improver for polyurethane foam production that can produce a polyurethane foam that combines a high strength (tensile strength, tear strength and compression hardness) and durability (wet heat compression residual strain rate and wet heat volume change rate). <P>SOLUTION: The strength improver (A) for polyurethane foam production is represented by General formula (I), has two hydrogen atoms (a) in the molecule which exists on an aromatic ring and in which a carbonyl group bonds to two adjacent carbons of the carbon of the aromatic ring to which the hydrogen atom (a) bonds, and had a number average molecular weight of 1,110-2,000. In the formula, R1 denotes a residue that excludes one active hydrogen from an active hydrogen-containing compound, wherein two or more R1 each may be identical or different; Y denotes a residue that excludes a carboxyl group from an at least trivalent aromatic polycarboxylic acid (C), wherein the aromatic ring of Y is composed of a carbon atom; a is an integer that fills 2≤a≤((the number of aromatic ring substituent)-2); Z denotes a residue that excludes active hydrogen of m pieces from an active hydrogen-containing compound of at least m valency; R1 and Z may be identical of different; and m denotes the integer 1 or 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
