摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve blood pressure measurement accuracy regarding a blood pressure meter used for measuring biological information such as blood pressure. <P>SOLUTION: A blood pressure meter includes a cuff to be wound around an upper arm of a subject, a pressure sensor for measuring the cuff pressure including a pulse wave component, and a CPU for acquiring data of the cuff pressure. When removing the vascular obstruction on the outside of the upper arm in the width direction when the cuff is wound around, the pressure sensor gradually expands the measurable range of the cuff pressure including the pulse wave component while it quickly expands the measurable range when removing the vascular obstruction on the inside of the upper arm in the width direction when the cuff is wound around. When removing the vascular compression on the outside of the upper arm, the pressure sensor measures the cuff pressure, on which the pulse wave component is superposed, with higher intensity in the partial range compared with the remaining range while it measures the cuff pressure, on which the pulse wave component is superposed, with uniform intensity over the whole range when removing the vascular compression on the inside of the upper arm. The CPU determines the blood pressure on the basis of the cuff pressure indicated in data measured and acquired when the shape of a specific time phase for every pulse-wave period is deformed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
