A method, an apparatus and a system for wireless broadband communication are provided, which are used for improving the bandwidth and capacity of mobile broadband communication, and meanwhile reducing the cost. The method provided in an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a macro base station establishing a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a user equipment (UE); a small cell receiving a configuration message sent, through a wired or wireless interface, by the macro base station; and the small cell establishing, according to the RRC connection and the configuration message, a user plane connection with the UE, and establishing a data bearer with the UE on the user plane connection.
