PURPOSE: An apparatus for horizontally pressing steel pipes and a method thereof using the same are provided to facilitate pressing steel pipes and make high quality of roadbed penetrated channels. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for horizontally pressing steel pipes includes a caterpillar self-propelled carriage(100), a hydraulic cylinder(110), and a plurality of reaction blocks. The caterpillar self-propelled carriage can straightly move for the stroke of a piston with supported in a reaction wall. The hydraulic cylinder has a piston having two-pitch stroke performance. The reaction blocks are loaded between the rear end of the carriage, which moves forward in pressed length after implementing pressing steel pipe stroke by the piston, and the reaction wall to serve as a reaction wall extension bar while implementing followed pressing steel pipe. |
