<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup that can properly suppress comatic aberration. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pickup includes an objective 17 for converging the light emitted from a light source on an information recording surface of an optical recording medium. The optical pickup is provided with a heat source 50 for applying heat to a deviated position of the objective 17 so as to cancel comatic aberration of the objective 17 itself.
