<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule-type latent curing agent whose curing temperature is set high irrespective of thermal characteristics of the curing agent itself, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The microcapsule-type latent curing agent includes a porous inorganic microparticle, a curing agent for an epoxy resin impregnated inside the porous inorganic microparticle, and a cured film of the epoxy resin formed on the surface of the porous inorganic microparticle by reaction of the curing agent with an epoxy resin prepolymer.
