摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material agglomerate for producing reduced iron, which can be effectively used as a heat source by burning combustible gas contained in volatile matter generated from an agglomerate in a furnace when producing reduced iron by heating a carbonaceous material containing a volatile substance and the agglomerate containing an iron oxide-containing material in a rotary hearth furnace. <P>SOLUTION: The raw material agglomerate used for producing the reduced iron by heating in the rotary hearth furnace is composed of a core part and an outer layer part for covering the core part. The core part contains the volatile substance-containing carbonaceous material and the outer layer part contains the iron oxide-containing material.
