The silencer i.e. end muffler (10), has a housing (12) made of metal material with small heat conductivity, and an inlet (18) and an outlet for an exhaust tube (22). Functional devices are a part of a device for exhaust gas recirculation of an internal combustion engine and made of plastic material. The functional devices are directly connected with the housing. The housing and the functional devices are connected with one another. The functional devices comprise a pressure reservoir e.g. low pressure reservoir or overpressure reservoir. The functional devices are selected from a vacuum unit (38), base body (39), vacuum pipes (40, 44), shifting valve (42) and suction pipe (46).
