The alternator has a mechanical unit formed of two variants to be operated by respective persons (A, B). Each variant has a rocker plate (1) with a rocker axle (2), and a toothed bracket (4) that is rotatable about a bracket joint (4a). The mechanical unit rotates a common gear wheel (5) and two flywheels (7) arranged at ends of the mechanical unit about a drive axle (6) using the body weight of the persons to convert gravitational force into rotational energy, so that the rotational energy is converted into 12 volt electrical power by a passenger car generator (15).
