LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition that is suitable for lubrication of internal combustion engines and has retainability of an advantageous TBN (total base number).

SOLUTION: A lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines having a sulfurized ash content of not more than 0.9 wt.% and a phosphorus content in the range of 0.04-0.1 wt.% contains: base oil; (A) one or more detergents selected from phenolate detergents, salicylate detergents and sulfonate detergents, wherein the one or more detergents each independently has a TBN in the range of 30-350 mgKOH/g as measured by ISO 3771; and (B) 3.5 wt.% or more of one or more antioxidants selected from the group consisting of amine-based antioxidants and/or phenol-based antioxidants, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition.
