The gear (1) has a toothed wheel i.e. idle gear (4), with a gear hub (2) and a gear rim (3) and arranged on a shaft (5). The gear hub has two areas e.g. gear hub outer area (2a) and gear hub inner area, in a radial direction. The inner area has three areas e.g. two recess-free gear hub inner areas (2b, 2d) and gear hub material-free recess area (2c), arranged adjacent to each other in an axial direction. Force transmission between the wheel and the shaft takes place over force-fit interference fit assemblies between a gear hub inner side (2h) of one of the recess-free areas and the shaft.
