<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication terminals and a failure detection method in a communication system which can shorten a time for retransmitting data by detecting data discarding due to failure in the communication system, in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: A communication system comprises a plurality of communication terminals autonomously transmitting data to the other neighboring terminals. Each of the communication terminals comprises: transmission means 12 for transmitting data to another neighboring terminal; reception means 11 for outputting data received from the other neighboring terminal to the transmission means as transmission data; and information management means 13 which stores a transmission history including a transmission number with which the transmission data can be identified, a reception number with which the received data included in the transmission data can be identified, and a reception terminal number with which a transmission source of the received data can be identified, and when it is determined that the transmission data has been discarded, on the basis of the transmission history, transmits a discard signal indicating that the received data included in the transmission data has been discarded to the transmission source of the received data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
