Provided is a method for producing an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer powder with which it is possible to simply and inexpensively produce an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer powder having excellent handling performance from a slurry of an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer dispersed in a fluorine-containing organic solvent. The method for producing an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer comprises feeding, at a feed linear velocity exceeding 0.10 m/second, a slurry of ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer microparticles dispersed in a specific fluorine-containing organic solvent to a centrifugal thin-film evaporator (12) having a cylindrical heat-conducting barrel (34), a first heating part (44) for heating the heat-conducting barrel (34), and a rotating mixing part (42) wherein a mixing blade (40) is disposed at rotating shaft (38) and rotates inside the heat-conducting barrel (34) to form a thin film on the inside wall surface (34a) of the heat-conducting barrel (34), and obtaining an ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer powder.
