[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a steering wheel unit with which it is possible to improve the durability of a hook portion that is inserted into an airbag module. [Solution] A steering wheel unit (110) is characterized by including: a steering wheel (102) that has a core bar (102a); an airbag module (104) that is attached to the vicinity of the center of the steering wheel (102); a base portion that is provided to the core bar (102a) and is bridged to the inside of the steering wheel (102) to support the airbag module (104); a hook portion (134a) that projects from the base portion and is inserted into the airbag module (104); and a cutout portion (140) that is cut away so that the thickness of the base portion is less than the surrounding area at the base of the hook portion (134a).
