<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire which ensures excellent drainage performance and high steering stability, in a tire having a different negative ratio between a tread half width region that is to be located at the inside of a vehicle when mounted, and a tread half width region that is to be located at the outside of the vehicle when mounted. <P>SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire including a pair of bead sections, a pair of side wall sections, and a tread section having a plurality of grooves with a belt, a lateral length is longer in one side from one outermost belt end to a tire equator face than in the other side. The negative ratio which is a ratio of a groove area with respect to the grounded area of the tread section, is larger in one side of the tire equator face than in the other side. A tire maximum half width showing the largest distance from the tire equator face to a side wall section face, in shorter in one side than in the other side.
