<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide affairs of a beam formation device and method, and a beam steering device and method, in an active imaging device. <P>SOLUTION: The active imaging device comprises: a broad band transmission unit 10 including one transmission antenna 15 for transmitting a radio toward an environment 5; a reception unit 20, where a frequency of a transmission signal is to be changed with the time in a broad band frequency range and the radio is received from the environment 5, and two reception antennas 25 and one reception element 21 or 22 to create a reception signal from the radio to be received are included; and a beam formation unit 30 for executing the beam formation by using a beam formation weight and acquiring a beam-formed output signal from the reception signal. For the reception signal in the respectively different frequencies among subsequent samples of the reception signal, a frequency dependent weight is to be used for forming the beam, and the frequency dependent weight is to be adapted so as to create a predetermined shape of a reception beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
