摘要 <p>An adjacent tone correction unit (11) carries out a process which corrects a sub-pixel tone for a post-overshoot process video signal (X2). The adjacent tone correction unit (11) corrects the tone of the adjacent sub-pixel to correspond to a liquid-crystal application voltage in which a tone of a subject sub-pixel is greater than a tone of an adjacent sub-pixel, and such that the tone difference is reduced when it is determined that the tone difference between the subject sub-pixel and the adjacent sub-pixel is large. A post-correction video signal (X3) which is derived with the adjacent tone correction unit (11) is used in the driving of the liquid-crystal panel (1). Thus, when displaying a characteristic color such as red, green, or blue, a lateral electrical field which arises between two adjacent sub-pixels is alleviated and the response speed of the liquid-crystal panel (1) is improved.</p>
