The fan has a spiral housing (1) including a inflow cover (2) and a funnel (9), which includes a high pressure region (13) and a low pressure region (14) in a suction region of a gaseous medium i.e. air, that flows against a ventilator (3). The pressure regions lead to reduction of a conveying efficiency of the medium and to increase of noise formation. The cover includes a hole (15) and a nozzle in the low pressure region of a smallest specific volume flow. The hole and the nozzle reduce an effect of the high and low pressure regions and are aligned at an inflow side of the cover.
