A multilayer cold conductor has internal electrodes formed from a palladium-based paste containing zirconium, tin, lead, silicon, hafnium, boron or their non-oxide compounds, alloys or mixtures. A multilayer cold conductor, consisting of barium, calcium, strontium and/or lead titanate doped with 0.2-0.5 mol.% La, Y, Sb or Nb and 0.02-0.08 mol.% Mn or Fe, has an internal electrode material of a palladium-containing metallization screen printing paste containing 1-20 wt.% (based on the paste solids content) of metallic zirconium, tin, lead, silicon, hafnium or boron, non-oxidic compounds (e.g., zirconium silicide or zirconium boride) or alloys of these elements or mixtures or alloys of these elements and compounds with titanium for dissipating barrier layers at the interfaces between the cold conductor ceramic and the metallization. An Independent claim is also included for production of the above multilayer cold conductor.
