Poured bituminous concrete or asphalt surfaces are treated by hot embedding of mineral to provide a back reflection of greater than 20, as measured by the standard P 98-606. Preferred Features: The mineral is a chromium-containing mineral or crystobalite having a Mohs hardness of 6-9, especially 7-8, and a particle size of 0-6 (especially 0.6-6) mm.
