PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having high display quality in a color liquid crystal display of a system forming time divisionally a color blend and performing a color display. SOLUTION: The same polarity voltages are written in all pixels of a picture in respective periods of red, green and blue image constitution periods in the period constituting one synthetic image. In one frame period, at the time of viewing in one pixel unit at every red, green and blue image constitution periods, the voltage becoming the polarity opposite to the image constitution periods of front/rear periods is written in, and in the next frame period, at the time of viewing in one pixel unit, the operation writing the voltage becoming the polarity opposite to the image constitution period of the same color of the former frame period is repeated. By making so, at the time of viewing in one pixel unit, an inversion frequency of the written voltage becomes three times compared with the case of frame inversion drive.
