PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system with high security, where falsification of an image file can easily be detected without increasing an image size after compression and without deteriorating the image quality, even when the image of the image file with an electronic watermark imbedded thereto is compressed. SOLUTION: An electronic watermark imbedding unit 101 partially imbeds an electronic watermark to an original image according to document form information 115 on the basis of document information 114 and transmits the resulting image to an electronic watermark extract unit 102 as an original image 106. Then the electronic watermark extract unit 102 extracts the electronic watermark partially imbedded from the original image 106 according to the same document form information 125 as the document form information 115, on the basis of document information 124 which is the same as the document information 114.
