<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a life of light emission time is merely prolonged and a burn-in phenomenon can not essentially be corrected. <P>SOLUTION: One or more sets of dummy pixel groups of dummy pixels a plurality of pieces of which form a set, and at least one brightness detection sensor are mounted outside the effective display area of a display panel. In this case, while all the dummy pixel groups before starting measurement of deterioration characteristics are given a mean gray scale value, one set of dummy pixel group in which measurement of deterioration characteristics is started is given a different gray scale value.
