The locking vice has a base (1) with a guide path (10) with two locking false jaws (20,21). One of the false jaws is freely movable for rotation on an axis but fixed for translation. The other false jaw (21') is guided for translation and rotation on a threaded section (3a) of the drive shaft (3). A locking pin (5) seats in a recess (6) of one false jaw of the translationally fixed jaw to extend into the guide path.
