摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a light pulse waveform and to determine the direction of the waveform by restructuring the light pulse waveform to be measured based on correlation data obtained from the light intensity of a third light pulse. SOLUTION: The waveform of a light pulse L0 of a light source 1 is dispersed by wavelength dispersion equipment 2 by the control of a computer 12, and is branched into first and second light pulses L1 and L2 by a beam splitter 3. The light pulse L1 is folded back by a retroreflector 6 and is reflected to a total reflection mirror 8, and is directed toward a lens 9. At this time, with the gap between the retroreflector 6 and the beam splitter 3, the computer 12 controls a feed mechanism 7 and changes delay time. Also, the light pulse L2 is folded back by a retroreflector 5, the lens 9 allows both the light pulses L1 and L2 to be crossed on an SHG crystal 10, and a secondary harmonic (third light pulse) being generated is detected by a photomultiplier 11. The computer 12 stores and analyzes the secondary harmonic intensity as correlation data along with the changed amount of wavelength dispersion and delay time, thus restructuring the wavelength of the light pulse to be measured.
