A process for producing an L-amino acid (L-lysine, L-glutamic acid, etc.) by a fermentation method having been improved compared with the conventional methods which comprises transferring a gene encoding glucose 6-phosphate isomerase into a coryneform bacterium capable of producing an L-amino acid (L-lysine, L-glutamic acid, etc.) so as to potentiate the glucose 6-phosphate isomerase activity, thereby improving the L-amino acid productivity. |
