摘要 PURPOSE: A device for automatically extracting a feature shape formed of a section trace from atypical digital data and a method thereof are provided to quickly and accurately generate a reverse engineering model by updating an extracted path and a profile as an average shape of arranged sections and performing modeling when extracting a feature shape of an object having a high degree of freedom. CONSTITUTION: A device scans a 3D object(S100). The device extracts plural interest points from a set of 3D scan data. The device generates initial sections from the interest points(S110). The device arranges the sections to match the sections with each other(S120). The device corrects the path after generating an initial path and an initial profile(S130). The device performs a modeling function by using the corrected path and the profile(S140).
