PURPOSE: A composition containing a Rhododendron album extract or a fraction thereof for antioxidation is provided to remove concentration-dependent DPPH free radical and ABTS free radical and to ensure excellent antioxidation effect. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for antioxidation contains a Rhododendron album extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water, alcohol of C1-C2, or a mixture thereof. The fraction is a normal-hexane fraction, a chloroform fraction, an ethyl acetate fraction, a normal-butanol fraction, or a water fraction. A composition for health foods for antioxidation contains the extract or the fraction as an active ingredient.
