PURPOSE: A method for indexing and searching robust motion picture for the change of variable encoding parameters, is provided to extract features of robust motion for encoding parameters by using motion vector in compression data of predictive(P)-picture or bidirectional(B)-picture, so as to index/search motion picture with the extracted features. CONSTITUTION: Feature extracting/describing units(100,101) describe picture/motion picture through a feature extractor/descriptor for colors, shapes and motion, other feature extractor/descriptor for producers, production year and story board, and an abstract extractor/descriptor for atmospheres and events. The feature information extracted from the feature extracting/describing unit(101) is stored in a multimedia database(103) through a database establisher(102). A feature comparator(104) compares the feature information extracted in the feature extracting/describing unit(100) with the feature information stored in the multimedia database(103), to calculate subjective and objective similarity for the extracted features. A comparison result index unit(105) indexes a compared result of the feature comparator(104), and stores an indexed result in the multimedia database(103). The compared result stored in the multimedia database(103) is output through a comparison result output unit(106). |
