<p>The mold (10) is manufactured from several sheet-metal elements (11-13) which are layered one on top of another, over the entire height. The mold is comprised of a round or polygonal cross-section. The sheet-metal elements are joined together tightly without gaps, by a joining technique such as friction stir welding and/or soldering process and are comprised of several openings distributed over the periphery, for forming cooling channels that guide the cooling water. The upper and/or lower end of the mold is formed with inlets and outlets of cooling channels (17,18).</p> |
