PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow direction meter dispensing with digging-up of a buried pipe, a special installation chamber, external power, and power supply and capable of being attached to a pipe and a valve simply and preventing erroneous detection caused by foreign matter, air bubbles, and scale. SOLUTION: This flow direction meter is provided with a paddle for receiving a flow of a fluid in a pipe passage, an operation lever provided with the paddle in a lower end part and turnable centered on a shaft provided in an intermediate part, a flow direction display part displaying a direction of flow in the interlocking relationship with the turn of the operation lever, a watertight housing storing the operation lever and the paddle, and a window allowing direct observation of the flow direction display part from the outside. The operation lever and the display part may be mutually connected through a turn lever, and the turn of the operation lever may be transmitted to the display part by a wire and an operation fluid pressure.
