PURPOSE: An anti-allergic and/or anti-atopic composition containing an Ecklonia cava extract is provided to maximize safety and anti-allergic effect with low cytotoxicity. CONSTITUTION: An anti-allergic or anti-atopic composition contains effective amount of water extract of Ecklonia cava leaves as an active ingredient, prepared by extracting Ecklonia cava leaves with water of 40 deg.C. The Ecklonia cava leaves are dried by far infrared ray at 100 deg.C. for 1 hour. An anti-allergic or anti-atopic functional food composition contains the water extract of Ecklonia cava leaves. The Ecklonia cava extract for the food composition is 20-90% of high concentrate liquid, powder, or granule.
