METHOD FOR EXTRACTING ALGINIC ACID FROM SEAWEEDS

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for extracting alginic acid from seaweeds, which simplifies a filtering process by using ultrasonic vibration, therefore, can increase the purity of the alginic acid. CONSTITUTION: The method for extracting the alginic acid from the seaweeds contains the steps of: cleaning the seaweeds with diluted hydrochloric water solution; bring the seaweeds into contact with 0.3-3.0wt% of an alkali water solution and simultaneously applying 30-60kHz of a ultrasonic vibration, instead of stirring, at an ordinary temperature for 1-8 hours.
