PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to improve transmittance by applying horizontal electric field to a liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal portion(HP) is formed near the region of forming a drain line(DL) to block the influence of the drain line on a wall pixel electrode(SE). A wall member(WL) passes through a liquid crystal layer from a second substrate to the first substrate. Wall pixel electrodes generate horizontal electric field to apply it to a liquid crystal layer. Therefore, uniform alignment is generated in the liquid crystal layer. |
