PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a map is hard to be watched since a fine target disturbs sight when the map is displayed on the small display screen of a portable telephone or the like. SOLUTION: Corresponding to the request of a user, the original map data of a required area are acquired (S10) and concerning a target, with which the size of the target included within the original map is smaller than a prescribed reference size, a delete flag is set in the data of the target (S16 and S18). Then, the map is simplified by integrating areas, where density becomes high since the targets set with the delete flag are collected, into one area (S20) and the simplified map data are transmitted to the portable telephone of the user (S24).
