A process and apparatus for preparing a food product in the form of a sheet, having a selected shape and/or incorporating decorative designs/images are provided. The process includes pouring liquid batter on a heated surface to form a contour outline according to a desired shape, pouring liquid batter to form design lines within the contour outline, and pouring liquid batter within the contour outline to form a main surface of the food product.
